ICICI sends statements in two different formats. We read both. Upload yours, check the ledgers we suggest, and the entries go into Tally.
Typing every UPI payment into Tally by hand
Upload once. Every line is read for you.
Digging the payee name out of a long UPI line
We pull the payee out and match the ledger.
Unlocking the statement ICICI emailed you
Type the password once at upload. Done.
Payments turning into receipts on the Cr/Dr format
We spot which format you have before reading it.
Columns sliding sideways on later pages
Shifted columns are put back where they belong.
Setting the same shops and vendors every month
A payee you set once is remembered next time.
Works with the statement you download and the one ICICI emails you.
In net banking, open Bank Accounts, then Statement of Account. Pick your dates and download as PDF or Excel.
Drop the file in. If it is locked, type the password — ICICI usually uses your date of birth as ddmmyyyy, or your customer ID.
Each transaction comes with a suggested ledger. ICICI statements have a lot of UPI, so set one ledger across many similar rows at once.
Download the clean Excel, then let Tally Connector — our free Windows app — import it into your open Tally company. Choose your ICICI bank ledger and the receipts, payments and contras are created for you. No XML file to build, and Undo Import reverses the whole batch. Or just keep the Excel.
This is the ICICI net banking layout. The other format swaps the two amount columns for one amount plus a Cr/Dr marker.
| ICICI column | What it becomes |
|---|---|
| S No. | Used to check nothing was skipped |
| Value Date | Kept for your reference |
| Transaction Date | Voucher date |
| Cheque Number | Cheque number on the entry |
| Transaction Remarks | Narration, and picks the ledger |
| Withdrawal Amount (INR) | A payment entry |
| Deposit Amount (INR) | A receipt entry |
| Balance (INR) | Used to double-check every row |
If your ICICI statement shows a Cr/Dr column instead, that works too — the marker tells us receipt or payment.
Download it from ICICI net banking as PDF or Excel, upload it to SmartXtract, check the ledger suggested for each transaction, and post the approved entries into your Tally company.
Yes. Type the password when you upload. ICICI usually uses your date of birth as ddmmyyyy or your customer ID.
Yes. Both ICICI formats work. Where there is one amount column with a Cr/Dr marker, the marker decides whether it becomes a receipt or a payment.
Yes. XLS, XLSX and CSV all work, and go through the same ledger matching as PDFs.
We pull the payee out of the UPI line and match it, so a shop you set last month is recognised this month. You still check every suggestion before anything posts.
Yes. Download the clean transactions as an Excel file with the ledger names included. There is a separate guide for converting ICICI PDFs to Excel.
20 pages, no card needed. Enough to run a full monthly statement and check the result.
